The story below is from Rita, a Fit Mom bootcamper for over a year. Rita came to my classes skeptical and full of reasons why she may not be able to continue. She had sore knees, a weak core, and little confidence in her abilities. I am so proud of Rita for having the courage to stay and for remaining dedicated and consistent. She has not only transformed her body on the outside, but she’s now more confident and positive about her body and her abilities. Read Ritas’s story and send to someone you know who has avoided classes because they don’t think they are in good enough shape. This is usually an excuse or an attempt to put blame on someone else for not working out. The truth is, any workout can be modified and appropriate for any fitness level. Anyone can participate in my program and get great results. Here’s Rita’s take on class:
When I joined Fit Mom exercise class in January 2011, I was ready to get in shape but I didn’t know where to start. Then a friend asked me to try a class with her and I have been participating ever since. I feel so lucky to have found this class, I just wanted to share my story.
When I started attending Fit Mom classes, I was turning 49 years old, I was out of shape, and didn’t think I would be able to do many of the exercises. I had weak knees, a sore back, and limited exercise experience. The first few classes were tough, but I worked at my own pace and gradually I got stronger and leaner! Through Melanie’s instruction and encouragement, and the support from other women in the class, I became more comfortable with my body and started to see positive changes.
I can’t say enough positive things about this class. It works for me because every class is different and I never get bored. Cardio and strength training are included in every class and I get a full body workout in just 45 minutes. Another great thing about this class is the the level of support I receive. Melanie offers advice on nutrition and motivates the class to stay focused on living a healthy lifestyle. The classes are full of fun, supportive women and we all motivate each other to work to our potential and get the results we want. If you’re thinking about making a small change in your existing lifestyle, that will get you one step closer to the body you want, I encourage you to take 45 minutes out of your day and try a Fit Mom class. It’s a small amount of time in your day that will lead to a happier, healthy you!
This is Melanie again- if you know someone who would like to make a change, but they don’t know where to start….send them this story. You could be instrumental in helping another woman find good health and happiness. Thanks for sharing Rita! It takes courage to put yourself out there and I appreciate your willingness to do so, so that someone else may benefit!

Way to go Rita!! You look great!
I am so proud of you Rita! You look fabulous! All of you hard work has really paid off. Amber
I did not realize when I commented today on your changes that there was this story posted about you. I have noticed on the random days I have been able to attend classes what a transformation I have seen you go through. You look terrific and you should be so proud of yourself for sticking with FM’s, working hard in class and at home with your eating plan. It IS hard work (nothing you can’t handle) but as you can see, the payoffs are tremendous. Keep up the good work!
